Copywriter Jobs

The Content Writer is the platform’s dedicated writer, producing and editing written content for all four Firms and, in due course, for Briefly itself. The role works across every Firm, with editorial direction and quality supervision the platform’s Senior Content Writer. That arrangement is deliberate: one experienced editorial eye sets the standard for writing across the platform, and the Content Writer extends that standard to every Firm. Day to day, the role works hand in hand with each Firm’s Marketing lead and Practice Development lead, who know their attorneys and practices, bring the Firm’s priorities and are the first port of call for what each Firm needs written.

The role works in two distinct modes. For Firm brand content, such as attorney bios, website copy, case studies, newsletters, social posts and awards submissions, the Content Writer writes the piece outright. For attorney thought leadership, such as blogs, articles and client alerts, the attorney is the author: the Content Writer helps plan, shape, edit and polish the piece, and gets it published quickly, but does not write it in the attorney’s name. Knowing which mode applies, and why, is central to doing this job well in a law firm setting.

This is a shared capability. The Content Writer serves each Firm in that Firm’s own name and to that Firm’s own brand and tone, works to a clear way of prioritizing between Firms, agreed with Firm Marketing and Practice Development leads, and uses shared templates, tools and processes wherever they make the work faster without making the Firms sound alike. The role is expected to be a confident, practiced user of AI tools, using them to work faster and smarter while remaining personally accountable for the accuracy and quality of every word published.

Essencial Functions & Responsibilities

Firm Brand Content: Written by the Content Writer

  • Write and refresh attorney bios across all four Firms to a consistent standard, capturing each attorney’s experience, clients served and credentials accurately and keeping them current
  • Write website copy, including practice, industry and solution pages, and support website migrations and brand refreshes with new and revised copy
  • Write case studies and client success stories, working with attorneys and client-facing teams and securing the approvals each one needs
  • Write newsletters, client communications and email copy for Firm marketing and client programs
  • Write LinkedIn and other social media copy for Firm channels, and help attorneys make the most of their own posts
  • Write the copy for one-pagers, pitch materials and other collateral, working with design colleagues who own layout and visual identity

Attorney Thought Leadership: Edited and Shaped

  • Work with attorneys to plan, structure, edit and polish attorney-authored blogs, articles and client alerts, so their expertise reads clearly to a business audience
  • Partner with Practice Development leads to spot attorneys with something timely to say, and to help attorneys who want to build their profile get into a regular writing rhythm
  • Interview attorneys to draw out the angle, the audience and the practical takeaway, and provide outlines and structural suggestions that make writing easier for busy lawyers
  • Edit for clarity, plain English, accuracy, search performance and each Firm’s house style, while keeping the attorney’s voice and substance intact
  • Turn around time-sensitive pieces on legal developments quickly, so alerts reach clients while the news is still relevant
  • Repurpose each piece across formats and channels, for example turning an alert into a LinkedIn post, a newsletter item and a short client email
  • Follow each Firm’s compliance review process before anything is published

Quality, Voice and Standards

  • Work with Content Creator to document and maintain a voice and style guide for each Firm, and apply it consistently
  • Proofread and fact-check everything before it is published, with particular care over names, titles, client references and legal terminology
  • Apply legal marketing and advertising rules in day-to-day writing, including care over claims, comparisons, testimonials and required disclaimers, and raise questions with Firm compliance contacts early
  • Make sure every piece is attributed to the right brand, whether a single Firm, several Firms or Briefly
