About the role 

 

We are seeking a Medical Copywriter for our global pharmaceutical client. This medical copywriter should possess an understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and be able to communicate brand objectives to authentically connect with audiences. The Copywriter will need to translate complex details of various therapeutic areas with a ocus on Rare Diseases Unit (RDU) – with a generalist ability to cover other areas such as Oncology; Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM); Respiratory & Immunology (RIA); and Vaccines & Immune Therapies (V&I), and thoroughly understand the products, their scientific position, brand guidelines, and marketing goals to develop digestible promotional content and messaging across channels. 

This position requires a highly detailed, creative thinker with excellent storytelling abilities, as well as a love for life sciences, research, and annotation. This role will help craft bold and evocative marketing messages, promotional-only training materials, and digital content that engages and influences sales teams, HCPs, and patients and their caregivers. 


 

What you’ll do 

 

  • Creating and executing innovative and effective content strategies and communication campaigns based on secondary market research and insights  
  • Analysing available data for a market, competitors, and the needs/preferences of our audience to help our team create relatable and captivating content 
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of all externally facing content and adherence to our brand voice, tone, and writing style 
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creativity from concepts through execution 
  • Monitoring the execution of the established plans and strategies 
  • Deciding on content formats and publishing dates 
  • Managing the creation of editorial calendars and adhering to the proposed timelines 
  • Supporting creative teams with feedback and guidance on scientific accuracy 
  • Research and understand the clients’ needs and target audiences, through an online search, review of existing research, and interviews with subject matter experts 
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials; use references and annotations as needed 
  • Collaborate with a team of client service managers, strategists, and creative staff on timelines, allocated resources, and creative execution 
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team, and to the client as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion 
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction 
  • Participate in the regulatory responsibilities and requirements to gain asset approvals 
  • Meets established deadlines or provides reasonable notice of special circumstances requiring deadline extension

    Desired background: 

    • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment in promotional content development for pharma industry (pharma marketing/health care advertising/sales/ copywriting) 
    • A degree/diploma in health science (medicine/pharma/biology/biosciences etc) AND/OR a degree/diploma in communications with experience of copywriting for pharma promotional marketing. Any additional marketing degree/certification/diploma will be a plus 
    • Experience with print + digital assets in pharma marketing. Experience with global brands will be a plus.
