Objective
To support client’s scientific communications efforts by developing high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and abstracts for scientific conventions. This writer will be focused on a specific disease area with extensive available data and ongoing therapeutic development.

Profile Overview
Client is seeking an experienced scientific writer with a strong background in medicine and biological sciences. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting complex clinical and statistical data, crafting high-impact scientific manuscripts, and working with multiple key opinion leaders (KOLs). This role requires familiarity with real-world evidence and the ability to translate data into scientifically sound, publication-ready documents.

Scope

• Commitment: Full-time
• Therapeutic Area: Cardiac amyloidosis – a rare disease often described as "dementia of the heart"
• Deliverables: Manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, abstracts for scientific conventions

Responsibilities

• Participate in a kickoff call and independently manage manuscript development thereafter
• Draft manuscripts and abstracts using appropriate scientific language and publication standards
• Accurately interpret and summarize large volumes of clinical and real-world data
• Develop clear results and discussion sections based on strength of statistical results
• Collaborate with internal teams and external experts (KOLs)
• Ensure alignment with publication strategy and scientific share of voice goals

Skills and Qualifications

• MD or PhD in a biological science or medical field (required)
• Strong understanding of biological mechanisms and how they might manifest clinically
• Prior experience writing scientific peer-reviewed manuscripts for industry
• Ability to understand the full scope and intent of a scientific paper
• Familiarity with real-world evidence and its application in publications
• Experience engaging with multiple KOLs across a therapeutic area
• Proven ability to work independently from concept to delivery
