This is a remote position.
Our Payroll Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for accurately entering and updating payroll-related data, including hours worked, earnings, deductions, and adjustments. This role supports the payroll function by ensuring that employee records are current and payroll runs are based on complete and accurate information.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter employee hours, overtime, and pay changes into the payroll system
- Review timecards and timesheets for completeness, approvals, and accuracy
- Process additions, changes, and terminations in employee payroll records
- Enter and verify earnings, bonuses, deductions, and benefit-related changes
- Assist with preparing pre-payroll reports and audit lists for review
- Help resolve discrepancies in time, pay rates, or deductions
- Maintain payroll files and digital documentation in an organized manner
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries from employees, routing as needed
- Support payroll processing for multiple locations or departments as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of experience in payroll support, HR support, or data entry preferred
- Basic understanding of payroll concepts
- Experience with payroll systems or HRIS is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
