We’re looking for a Data Studies Writer to join our editorial team and drive PR and content strategy through compelling, data-driven storytelling. This role reports to the Director, Public Relations & Communications.
Where you can make an impact:
- Collaborate with PR, spokespeople, and Content teams to develop study and survey topics, while breaking down complex financial data and identifying emerging trends.
- Draft survey questions in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze survey data tables and extract meaningful insights for internal and external audiences.
- Manage study projects, creating timelines, coordinating deliverables, and aligning stakeholders.
- Write consumer-facing studies, syndication stories, and entries for the NerdWallet Data Hub.
- Review external materials featuring NerdWallet data to ensure precision and accuracy.
- Conduct peer reviews and provide quality control for team analyses.
- Monitor survey data usage across Content for accuracy and consistency.
- Enhance studies and reports by combining AI-driven insights with survey and market data.
- Pitch creative, data-driven story ideas using unique and defensible methodologies.
- Maintain and update the NerdWallet Data Hub as a go-to resource for impactful insights.
Your experience:
- 5–7+ years of professional experience in journalism, content writing, or PR, with proven ability to analyze data, interpret statistics, and apply them to storytelling.
- Experience in survey research, data journalism, or editorial data projects is a strong plus (but not required).
- Demonstrated success collaborating across teams such as PR, Content, and Data—including close partnership with an Economist.
- Exceptional attention to detail, editorial integrity, and commitment to accuracy.
- A growth mindset—curious, open to feedback, and eager to continuously improve.Where:
