Database Entry Clerk

Contract: Fixed-term 8-week contract, full-time, 35 hours per week, starting June 29, 2026

Location: Canada, Remote

Salary: $17.60 CDN per hour.

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Data Entry Clerk to join Fundraising and Philanthropy team this summer. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are organized, comfortable working with computers, and eager to develop administrative and data management skills.

In this role you will:

  • Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems
  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
  • Organize and file digital and paper records as needed
  • Perform basic data clean-up and corrections
  • Generate simple reports or summaries when requested
  • Follow established data entry procedures and quality standards
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

This role is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. The successful candidate must be:

  • between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27*
  • legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
  • International students are not eligible.
  • Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Essential Skills

  • Previous office, clerical, or data entry experience is an asset but not required
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good typing and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
