Job Description:

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and detail-obsessed Copywriter Lead to join our Brand Creative team on a 12–18 month contract, covering a parental leave. You’ll own and elevate the brand's voice across major campaigns and critical touchpoints, shaping messaging that connects emotionally while driving measurable impact.

In this role, you will:

● Lead copy development for large-scale, cross-channel campaigns, ensuring messaging is on-brand, strategically sound, and creatively compelling.

● Translate strategic insights and consumer mindsets into inspiring creative concepts that resonate with both B2C and B2B audiences.

● Partner closely with brand designers to concept, develop, and refine integrated creative across paid media, email, social, video, events, and merchant-facing materials.

● Collaborate with product marketing, partner marketing, PR/comms, events, and product design teams to ensure cohesive, audience-first messaging.

● Act as a steward of the brand voice—guiding its application, evolving our tone where needed, and ensuring consistency across touchpoints.

● Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the Affirm brand through copy, storytelling, and creative problem-solving.

 

Qualifications

● Experience: 6+ years of professional copywriting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role owning high-profile campaigns.

● Track Record: Portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, cross-channel campaign work, and strong brand stewardship. Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be considered.

● Strategic Skills: Ability to leverage consumer insights and brand strategy to inform creative decisions.

● Collaboration: Experience working closely with design, marketing, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

● Craft Mastery: Demonstrated ability to produce clear, compelling, and on-brand copy across formats (long- and short-form, headlines, scripts, social).

● AI Fluency: Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Jasper, GrammarlyGO, Midjourney) to enhance creative ideation, drafting, and editing—while maintaining brand tone and quality standards.

● Tools: Proficiency in Google Suite; familiarity with Figma and Notion is a plus.

  • Background in copywriting for finance, fintech, or tech a plus, please include specifics when you apply!
